Donna Friedlander
Owner & OperatorThe Friedlander family has owned and operated Tally-Ho Carriage Tours since 1990. Donna’s late husband, Larry, was the heart of the company for 32 years, and his passion for the horses, people and business extended to Donna and their daughters, Brianna (2001) and Kennadie (2004). Upon Larry’s death in 2015, Donna has become the next successor to lead this historical company.
Donna started in Victoria’s horse-drawn carriage industry in 1991 as a carriage driver, after many years of experience riding at local barns. She met her soul-mate and husband, Larry, through the carriages and together their love of the horses took them through many adventures over 23 years, starting with buying their first horse together, Archie. During those years Larry was the face of Tally-Ho, running the front-line operations and Donna, a Certified Professional Accountant, utilized her business, financial and strategic management skills to oversee the behind the scenes aspects of the business (accounting, marketing, general administration, etc.).
The Tally-Ho horses are beloved pets to Donna, Brianna and Kennadie, and live with them on Hidden Acres Farm: their health and well-being are of the utmost importance to the family. With this common goal binding the entire staff together, everyone often refers to their Tally-Ho work colleagues as their extended family.
Donna has dedicated her life to raising her two beautiful daughters, caring for her horses and building a business where staff are happy to come to work each day. Donna’s leadership will continue to ensure that Tally-Ho Carriage Tours operates in the most ethical, progressive fashion while maintaining a sense of fun and a high standard of customer service.
