Clydesdale gelding born 2016. Max joined the Tally-Ho herd in 2023, although we wouldn’t meet him until the Spring of 2024 (he spent the first 9 months with our trainer, Ed, in Chetwynd, BC). Max has won our hearts quickly, with his kind eyes and try-so-hard attitude! He is working through our horse development program where his biggest challenge is to learn to relax. Max has begun working in Victoria part time, interspersed with additional training in our quiet farming community of Saanichton where he’s learning that, as a carriage horse, he gets to take life at an easy-going pace. We are excited to watch Max develop his skills and become confident and brave in his everyday world!
The Clydesdale horse is listed on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust list as a species vulnerable to extinction. In 2010 the worldwide population was estimated to be 5,000.
