Enjoy an open-air horse-drawn carriage ride in the rural farming community of Saanichton, freshly roasted artisan coffee, award-winning locally crafted cider, and a freshly prepared gourmet picnic.
We created these tours in 2020, as part of our pandemic survival plan. We loved the idea of bringing multiple, local businesses together to showcase the amazing products and services offered near the horses’ home. Due to popular demand, we will again offer this experience for a limited time in 2022.
Our guests consistently rave about the experience, which means it sells out quickly! Early bookings are strongly suggested.

Join us for an up-close and personal draft horse encounter! For a limited time, guests can enjoy an exclusive, behind the scenes tour of the Tally-Ho horses’ home! Meet the horses and hear their stories! Learn about their care, specialized training program and the fascinating world of working draft horses! Witness the beautiful partnership and bond that develops between horses and humans. Participate in grooming and harnessing a draft horse, and then relax as your leave the farm for your own private carriage tour of our local farming community.
These tours were created to allow the general public a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with our amazing draft horses; and to learn first-hand about what we do, and how we do it.

All donations go directly towards covering horses care and other non-discretionary costs of over $15,000 per month.
The COVID-19 health crisis and resultant travel restrictions have created significant financial challenges for many businesses. Tally-Ho was created as a tourism-focused business in 1903. Since then, we estimate that 95 percent of our income is derived from travellers. As a small, owner-operated, nimble company, when COVID hit the world we were able to reduce our operations to fit the new, reduced level of demand; and create fantastic new experiences for our locals!
Despite our best efforts, we operated at only 15% our normal capacity in 2020. This year, 2021, saw a slow and tumultuous recovery: in April we were down to operating at 5% our normal capacity; we recovered to 50% normal in July and August; and since then are working an average 15% normal.
It has always been our commitment to ensure our horses have the best care possible. They are family and an integral part of our lives; and are beloved friends to our staff and local residents. We are enormously appreciative for the ongoing emotional and financial support that has been shown to our team (horse and human)! Tally-Ho will continue to rely on the kindness of the public to help us care for the horses during the ongoing COVID health crisis. Please take a tour, purchase a gift certificate for a loved one, or consider sponsoring your favorite horse!

This beautiful lady is one of only a few draft mares on the farm, born 2000. We think Delilah may be a Suffolk Punch, perhaps crossed with a Belgian. She is mommy to our beloved Sampson, and every gelding on the property thinks she's pretty fantastic. Delilah is strong and determined, with a kind eye and softness to her that is incredibly inspiring. Her 'happy pace' is rather on the speedy side and her drivers are always asking her to slow it down a little. She earns a Gold Star for being the fastest horse on Victoria's streets! The Suffolk Punch is considered to be one of the rarest breeds in the United Kingdom, and the breed is shown as in critical danger on the Rare Breeds Survival Trust list.

Percheron gelding born 2005. Jinx was welcomed home to the Tally-Ho herd in December 2017, coming to us from Alberta where he was mainly used as part of a team to feed and do farm chores. He captured our hearts quickly with his kindness, and we find ourselves reciprocating that ten-fold. Jinx moved quickly through the stages of our horse development program and began work in Victoria's beautiful inner harbor in June 2018. As a shy boy by nature, his biggest hurdle in his new job was getting used to all the affection from our team and his 'fans' who stop by to visit. He is kind, willing and very confident in his work; and we think he may be still learning to 'put up with' the amount of affection he receives on a daily basis😍 .
